Further to the above...If the needle does not move, touch the connector direct to the engine bloick - If the needle move up you'll know your guage is OK and this reeally does point to the sender. As far as getting a replacement sender - check trhe colour of your current sender near the connector and match this as different colours were used to indicate different temperature ranges,
