Default The Dreaded Fuel Distributor

The first of a few posts, forgot what a p.i.t.a. these could be. Car nearly finished. Push down the flap, very stiff. Went down with a good shove, no resistance coming back. Plunger stuck? Eventually frees itself and comes back. Same in two other units in the garage but they are well stuck. Last time I tried to get the car going had 5 fuel distribution units, either pissing fuel or plunger stuck.
Tried taking one apart, nightmare with 30 year old torx bolts.
Any chance this will free up with fuel pressure or is it goosed?
Last time I enquired was near 400 quid for an overhaul with no guarantee.
Between this and a stripped thread on one of the studs from the elbow to the exhaust, will be glad to see the back of the thing.
