A good solar should keep the battery ok as long as the battery is not connected to the car which would cause a drain. I've a cheap Chinese one hooked up to my old Volvo...and it could sit for several months without issue. Connect battery up, start car just fine. But if it's left connected to the battery, there's just too much drain in the car
