Coming back to this as I mentioned blasting above (thinking about walnut)

I saw a diagnose Dan vid the other day where he blasted with a media that’s dissolvable. Obviously works same way as walnut blasting but if there’s any media left the vacuum won’t suck you can just squirt this apart in and it dissolves any media. Blasting is pretty cool idea to be honest and sounds worrying but you’ve got the valves closed and a vacuum cleaner sucking as you blast.

I think if I had a DI I’d have intake manifold off and clean out properly then get the valves blasted, run a separate oil breather or just add a separator and ditch egr.

But the main reason I mention it was he blasted one set of valves so they were mint then left the other 3 intake ports untouched, put the inlet back on and done one of these intake cleaner spray things he’d got that claimed to be great. Total crap and all it did was drag loads more crap that was in the intake manifold into the intake ports and his newly cleaned valves looked like crap after too.

We had a rep from one of the engine cleaner companies come in the garage where I work the other day, F me the bloke was there for about 2 hours like a bloody double glazing salesman! Didn’t wanna take no for an answer and was a right menace.
