the unique Scottish weather means r888s as my everyday tyres would be undrivable in the wet
depends if the overall rolling radius is changed, 17’s tend to have bigger tyre wall so overall circumference could be the same, especially on drag tyres. If you go low profile then the gearing would be lower which could help acceleration on some cars, albeit with more gear changes.
