i think there become noisey when dead.. the only other thing it could be is the diesel pump as them engines are mint apart from timing belt snapping when un changed there run for mega miles i used to do loads back in day services etc
I have another turbo diesel Sierra engine here that’s running I will take the pump off that. The pump is slightly different it doesn’t have the red switch with the 3 wires going to it on the top of the pump, it’s coming off an engine with no egr Valve on it If that makes a difference, I’ll put up pictures to show difference in pumps, they aren’t my ones just want to show the difference
