what people need to understand too is that when you are joining a carriageway/motorway on a slip it’s up to you as the joining driver to adjust you speed accordingly to enter safely. It’s NOT up to the driver already on the road to give way or move over although many of us do out of courtesy. I’ve moved over on occasion in the truck to let others join the road, but instead of holding back/taking their foot off the gas and letting me come back into the inside lane most go up the inside lane and hang me out to dry, truck drivers too so I tend not to move out anymore, remember most trucks in the U.K. are restricted to 56 mph or less.
