It’s been five years since I broke my Sapphire and sold it in bits, must admit I haven’t looked back, I love Cosworths in all the variations and to own one was a boyhood dream for me but...........I would not own another one unless I had a lottery win lol then it would be a black 500 for me.
these days parts are getting extremely scarce not to mention expensive, body panels forget it and like any fast ford or specialist cars you can’t leave them anywhere for fear of them getting nicked. Just the other day I read of a 3DR cossie stolen from its owner who had owned it for years, a frsoc member had his MK2 Focus rs nicked from a hotel car park with the thief cutting the disc lock off to acquire the car, a happy ending for the Focus as he got the car back, many are never seen again.
for me any specialist car is not an everyday car, it’s a toy that should be used sparingly, garaged out of sight and out of mind and a second car to use for your everyday runnings that you don’t have to worry about where you park it and or if bits will be missing off it when you return to it.
