My wife lives in America so I spend time in both countries. I can find some cars in the breakers easily and its just my time and a minimal amount to get the bits I need. I might look into dodge's. I did enjoy the charger I had for a bit but absolutely hated the challenger to the point I was going to leave it in the middle of San Francisco and walk away I hated it that much.
We are looking for land to build a house/workshop on as her current place only has a double garage and I can't store much there. My two storage units I can store engines/parts but both have cars of mine in so getting a car to break is not an option until we move to a different state in the future.
i live half and half uk/usa, and my boss let me use our yard, and forklift, so i was luck, using the workshop maybe today to start building the crate to send everything to the uk, ordering the hand held tuner with 3 maps today as its black friday and is $100 cheaper,
i think if i was going dodge v8 i would try and find the bigger size engine, although the 5.7 has good power, the 6.x ones are nicer, and depending on the project u can now get the v8's in 4wd in the cars i believe,
my plan for the mk6 at the start of the year was to use a v6 ecoboost and 10 speed out of an F150, high power one if i could have found one, they are 450hp factory, not bad from a v6, but the prices are still to high, so as i already had a donor vehicle with knackered engine, i just went for the long block and a cheap used spare gearbox, by doing that i can test everything and the setup in the mk6, then build up the fully built engine for higher boost for my mk1 transit project. ( i like transits, u would never have guessed), the mk1 project will use the front drive from the donor f150 i already have to give me selectable 2/4wd at the flick of a switch
