Mate of mine had the same box in his Escort. Worked well but the noise use to drive me mad, it confirmed I don't want a straight cut box in my saph. Think I'm going to put a big tooth box from Gearboxman in mine next year as the old T5 is getting rather noisy
My T5 was a completely rebuilt/uprated box from Bara Motorsports and so far it's been coping well with the power level on my 2wd Saff .I think once you get up into 500 -600+ bhp you have no option but to go for a much stronger straight cut gearbox and the noise that goes with it. Was up at Castle Combe recently and the noise from the gearboxes of some of the trackday cars was very loud!
