wasnt a fan of the dechrome when I seen it in the for sale pics and was planning on reinstating it but it looks good in real life so ill probably leave it....not a fan of the grey wheels though, they'll get redone gloss black with polished rim like my old ones and the black badges looked tacky so it was a visit to Mercedes to order new chrome badges today....3 boot badges and 2 wing badges £220 +vat so not bad considering genuine wing badges are on ebay for £95 each....
it already has the privacy glass and genuine 19" multispokes that I sourced as extras for my last one . and as said its a higher spec model to start with with the main dealer performance plus package and more option gadgets like parking sensors. . the last owner had it nearly 2 years and spent a few grand on it so its been looked after. a camshaft tensioner needed replaced 6 months ago at the cost of £1300 plus it has a set of brand new uniroyal rainsport3'
tyres fitted last month.the uprated performance pack discs are £600 each from ECP but luckily it had news discs and pads fitted less than 3000 miles ago.
its also had the DMS engine transmission and throttle remaps and although it was universally accepted their quoted figures of 545bhp were overinflated it is noticeably more responsive and quicker than my old one.
its had the same 2 X millteck secondary decats as my last one but this one doesn't have the crossover pipe fitted so its not quite as loud and raspy as my old one, its more a deeper rumbly grumbly noise and much nicer and wont scare my neighbours so much on early morning cold starts.....
. the stance isn't quite right though....its had 15mm spacers fitted to each wheel so I think ill remove them and I got the V5C through today so I can fit my private plates on it tomorrow .
all in all first impressions are its a good well looked after car and im happy to be cruising in a 6.2 V8 AMG again.....and I don't mind the high fuel costs …..
