Are you talking about getting a Sapphire Cosworth as they are the only ones to come in a choice of 2wd or 4x4. No 3 door Cosworth models came in 4x4 version. As others have said the standard 205 block will cope ok with the potential power you want.Getting a perfectly good 4x4 Saff and converting it to 2wd would be a costly waste of time imo. Your problem will be finding a rust free 2wd in good condition as there now only seems to be 2 types around, long term enthusiast owned in very good condition or dog rough ones that will need loads of money spent to restore it. Depends on what you have available to spend and if you want one that is turn key ready to go or a project. There are probably more modified ones with various stages of tuning than there are standard ones but if the modifications have been done right you can still have a 30 year old Saff with the performance of a modern car!
