The 4x4 (200) block is stronger, but this is only of importance if going for big power, which you state you are not.

The 4x4 (YBJ or YBG) engine was revised over the 2WD, mainly a better cooling system, although I have never had an issue with the original system.

Ford stated that 85% of parts were either new or changed over the YBB.

The 2WD makes up for this in so many different areas, by the fact it has the stronger gearbox and diff, as well as having better brakes.
