I don't believe this is a battery issue.

I would certainly disconnect the battery until you have ascertained what the issue is, it sounds as if you may have a short somewhere.

The two wires you describe are the fusebox supply (which contain fusible links) which as I say in your other thread build resistance and so this would be the place to start.
