Good evening everyone, I'm looking for some help regarding my Escort mk1.

my father purchased it in the 90s sometime, never received a log book with it and it's been in storage for most of the time. Started restoring it and we don't have a vin number for the car. We have the registration, original colour, spec etc but no vin number. I was wondering if anyone can help/put me in the right direction to finding out? Tried the DVLA, HPI etc but no joy.
