I've no idea what his perception of a "map" is ?

I've seen idiots on other forums who proclaim they are tuners etc think a map is just the main fuel/spark tables....which proves them to be utter idiots, not tuners.

And if he wanted a timing table to start/run an engine...just fill it all in with 10, 15, 20. That will start and allow almost any engine to run. Except there is a hell of a lot more to a map than that, with many more variables. In many respects something like the timing table would be one of the easiest to fill in to get running.

And an engine is an engine, any similar spec 2.0 4cyl inline etc will have similar values for a similar spec to allow it to start and run initially. So shouldnt be difficult to follow manufacturers instructions for setup for whatever ecu he is using, throw some numbers into it and get it running.
