Default st225 m66 gearbox questions

My brother has an st225 and the gearbox is shot. The first and second gear are making alot of noise. I think the input shaft bearing is worn out. These m66 gearboxes are pretty pricey over here (netherlands) 750pounds revised(overhauled) and 800 in used condition.

So i tracked some stuff down and these are the options:
-pay alot and get a used one 800pounds
-pay alot swap and get overhauled one 750pounds
-get one from an volvo t5 for around 300pounds
-get one from the UK max200 pounds
-overhaul the one ive got..

The problem is that my brother uses this car for daily and this is his only car. So i really don't got the time to overhaul the gearbox he has in it now.
And i also heard that parts for the m66 are pretty hard to find. Is this true? (because maybe i want to overhaul one if he has 2 gearboxes)
The volvo gearbox is pretty much the same but could have a diffrent final drive ratio.

So the best option i could think of is getting one from the UK. But i don't know company's who sell good gearboxes for the st225. And if it is verry common for the m66 to breakdown? Is an RS gearbox stronger?
I saw a company called st breakers which sells gearboxes for 120pounds (not including shipping) don't know if it's a good company to deal with?

Any info would be appreciated!!!
