Not all cars are X split, some are just front rear. I use Euroquip stuff but there are a few other makes similar. I have two cars fully plumbed with euroquip front to back no problems and a firm responsive pedal. But some say that full braided lines give a soft pedal, i've not found that. The other car has hard line to each corner with equip lines from the shell to the calipers. Just keep the lines to as minimum as posible a run
The fittings used depends on the application and your pocket. I used swivel joints where i could as the fixed ones can cause you a problem if you need to undo one section of line.
