I made the mistake of not putting oil in my gearbox, by the time I realise it had done the classic trick of destroying the speedo drive. The box works fine, but I want my speedo back, so a while ago I bought a second hand box for it, which I was told was off a MK3. As I am only just getting round to fitting it and checking it out, I now realise that it has a different code number on it to my original box. From what I can see the old box has XVI/1 on it, the new box has XXV/1 and the number 87TT7F096AB on it. So the question is, what have I bought, and will it fit?
