So I have a minor problem with my 2009 Ford Focus 2.0 TDCi si. When turning the ignition on I’ve always waited for the glow plug light to go out before cranking. However now the glow plug light as well as the engine light stays on for at least 12-15 seconds.
These are the only lights illuminated on the dash board and all normal electronic functions seem to only kick in after these lights go out (gauges, other dash lights, headlights,etc). Accompanied by these lights is a warning “chime” that beeps about 6 times as I turn on the ignition.
This happened suddenly and I’m not sure if I should be alarmed, although engine runs normal without any problems.
Was wondering if anyone knew what this meant ?
