The bracket at the steering rack and the tapered spacer at the tie rod end have been done to get the bump steer as he wanted. Since both the bracket and the tapered spacer are both only moving the joint in the vertical plane and not in the horizontal it should matter for the Ackermann.


There is indeed increased stress at the location where the taper connects to the wheel knuckle. That is why they've made a taper and not a straight pin.


I have actually made something similar for my 4x4 Sapph, but I'm not happy yet with how it is done exactly.
