Although the alternator is brand new have you checked it to see if it is charging properly? Is the battery in good condition? The symptoms sound like when there is an extra draw on current the alternator is not charging as it should be.
I had the same sort of thing a while back on my Saff and it was a faulty alternator. When you put the new alternator on did you by accident trap any wires or put any of them back on in different positions to how they were originally? Double check everything as it's sometimes a very simple thing that could be causing the problem. Hope you sort it out ok.
