MikeyRobbo off here had a titanium X with the 2.5 and liked it.
Having a derv and not doing long runs it’ll only be a matter of time before it starts going tits up like all deisels.
The diesels engines in the mk4s are Peugeot engines. I only live a few mile away from work but I will give it a good blast out every now and then. Also I told the wife she can take it to work once a week so it will get a good run out and hopefully it will regen when she has it on the motorway.
