the new chain will have bronze links for the timing marks to line up against

you stick the chain on, then do the pulleys up, then rotate the engine a few times for the bomb to pop

once you know the timing marks are all spot on you can then go ahead and start the engine, the oil pressure takes up the slack

make sure you've locktited the timing guide bolts in as they WILL come loose if you haven't
