I've never really seen why people think they need a billion horsepower. Maybe on a track but, other than that, it's just willy waving because you can't really use it. A good B-road thrills me way more than any track ever could.

The appeal of Cosworth for me comes from the fact that it is a car of it's time. An unmodified Group A rally Saph would do me just fine. With a 38mm restrictor, you have mountains of mid range punch, coupled to a dead short gearbox to get you up to speed, with great brakes and proper suspension (for the period at least).

While I get why some might want to fit a modern turbo/ECU and a multi-link rear end, for me, if you take away the turbo lag, the noise and the slightly flawed suspension, you've taken away the essence of the car in my opinion. You might as well just buy something else.
