I’ve always wondered about the necessity of the water cooling...

Precision turbos for example are mainly all oil cooled only, and if always going flat out like drag or on track wouldn’t the heat from the turbo try and heat up the coolant passing through it?? Raising engine cooling temps?
Does the turbo really need water cooling in some applications??
