Basically I know a guy whose VERY VERY good with CF. Hes thinking about getting into doing parts for Performance Cars as a sideline. Currently doing a Quattro Rear wing and has done a Bonnet for an RX7. (his brothers IIRC)
Anyway, and I'll try to be accurate. He says theres 2 sorts of people doing C/F work at the moment. Those who build yachts and swimming pools. These are the people that reinforce with Glas fibre and have bonnets that are far too floppy when finished so need a frame put inside them. Basically they've seen that CF is becoming popular and are trying to cash in.
Then theres the other type of builder who has worked in Premier League motorsport and various other "interesting" projects. And have made bonnets that are self supporting and weigh less than the competitions. Downside is that it isnt cheap compared to the other type
