Out of curiosity mark if the standard rods where new would you think they would be strong enough for 700bhp if the rpm was sensible? I wouldn't do it personally as I know the longer rods are better but cool to hear the standard ones where so well engineered.
I would still change them as at that level you want to be looking at longer rods to help with the load on the bores.
