I wouldn’t build a engine to run 700hp on stock rods as for me it carries to much risk as they are very old and fatigued and if one lets go it kills everything.
I would map a engine to that if I was asked but I would make the owner aware of my view.

Out of curiosity mark if the standard rods where new would you think they would be strong enough for 700bhp if the rpm was sensible? I wouldn't do it personally as I know the longer rods are better but cool to hear the standard ones where so well engineered.
