had some on my old car and very addictive but mine were very old and required constant setting up and needed a rebuild really
I have had 2 cars ( Lotus Cortina & 1600e Cortina ) with twin Weber dcoe 40 carbs which are very similar to the delortos and never really had problems getting them set up. As you say they sound awesome when you are pushing hard, better noise than a straight through exhaust!! They will never be fitted with good mpg in mind, both of the cars I had were never much better than about 25mpg even when driving carefully!!
