I seem to be one of a very few running 235 tyres all round on the Saff, its a little work but your standard hot hatch nowadays has this much tyre with a lot less power.
Thanks, that does make sense. I could then maybe try 215/45 for a bit more tyre wall give. problem there is I would need to buy a tyre to check for rubbing then waste it and try 215/40 if it doesn't work.

I will try the wheels bare first and then consider if I will get them skimmed down a little before going for it with the tyres.

If I go for the engine that I am considering at the moment I think it will need all the grip it can get as it will be a significant hike in power.
