ok looks like a trailer will be the best option. looking online I can pick up an old trailer for about £500 . the cost of keeping it road legal will be more than that plus if I crash it I wont be stuck with no lift home.
not looked at hiring a car transporter, a quick online search says its about £100 a day. its a gamble whether the car lasts 5 events or more to offset the cost against buying an old trailer
I think that's probably a decent shout for a couple of events to see how it goes before deciding whether to buy.
