Cosworth oil switch has a higher trigger point so gives you precious seconds extra should your oil pressure plummet so a good investment regardless.

The spring raises the pressure slightly (you can shim a standard one to the same effect) - a well build CVH wont need this IMO but ive used them on tired cvhs and a mix of genuine/non-gen pumps to give me a few extra psi at idle
