Looking at buying a 3dr, seeking advice. Thanks
Good morning guys and girls.
I am currently in the market for a 3dr cosworth. Working with a budget i know im not going to be buying a concours car, what i dont want is a car that needs lots of work, i would say my budget would buy me a good example i can jump in and use. I am currently in contact with a nice guy that has one he would be willing to sell, hes a very honest chap and has fully talked me through the car. Over the last 3 years he has restored it to a very good standard, not concours but still very good and one you wouldnt be scared to use. My only concern is to its value because of its history on the previous mots. Its failed quiet a few around 10 years ago due to significant rot and poor accident damage repair.. It has had a rear quarter pannel, a wing, outer cill and various repairs on the battery tray, rear suspension mounting areas inner and outer, seatbelt anchorage points, floor to cill corrosion, damaged and corroded areas on the underside of the vehicle, basically the history looks pretty bad but i have faith it has all been repaired to a high standard and the seller has nothing to hide offering a full inspection on his ramp and restoration pictures to show areas that cannot be seen. My main question and concern is without any actual ford history service scheduals and only the previous mot history to go off would this put abit of a black mark next to the car when its value comes into play? Although the car seems right im just worried it may affect its future badley if i ever came to re sell it.
Thanks
Jamie
