There's a version of the Tracker that's been available for about 10 years which allows the Feds to turn the engine down to walking pace - I guess it doesn't allow the dibble to stop the car dead to prevent snarky American coppers from stopping suspects on railway lines as the train is approaching...
Anyway, for some reason it was never sold here. Some minor whinging from the civil liberties group who don't want the police to have the physical powers to control your car in that way. I guess they'd rather just have their cars nicked.
I enjoyed response and pursuit, bit it had a short shelf life for me. Crap shifts, and a stressful job with the ever present threat of prosecution for simply doing your job made it pretty wearing and I only did 2 1/2 years. After one particular incident involving a colleague who was suspended, presumed guikty, and treated quite bqdly until a witness was found who proved he'd done nothing wrong, I jumped ship. Much better hours in CID and much closer to the kettle.
