Not sure to be honest. Sometimes the bearings have collapsed, or just whine like hell. I'm not sure if the grease is up to standard as it looks like the bearing & grease have got too hot. I always tighten the nuts up to the correct torque settings so not sure must to do.
There is something going on that is not normal. I recently had new rear wheel bearings fitted on the rear of my 2wd Saff after 67,000 miles. I am not suggesting that you have done anything wrong but maybe you have misunderstood part of the installation prochedure or torque settings?
