Hi guys,

I'm out here in Australia and my radiator on my Series 2 decided to have a good cry all over the driveway (rather there than in the city), so while it was all taken apart at the front I thought I would give the turbo a little wiggle to test for play in the shaft and it is rooted, so I jumped on turborebuild.co.uk to organise a replacement cartridge and they recommend measuring the impeller to be sure that their cartridge will fit. Their replacement has a measurement of 40.5mm side to side on the photo on their website but after measuring mine it is only 38.5 which means (obviously) their replacement cartridge won't fit into my turbo housing. I looked back through the receipts for the car and sure enough theres a receipt for a TB0355 which should be the turbo to match 40.5mm shouldn't it? So I don't know what to do for the best now, buy a proper sized (but used and knackered) turbo and rebuild it to have the correct turbo or rebuild what I have and keep using it?
