Default Kuga MK1 fob/key

The other day the fob just suddenly stopped working...
When i tried to lock the car and set the alarm thats when i noticed it was not working so i had to use the key..

The spare fob/key we found out is not for our kuga why they gave us this one i dont know...

So we are having to trawl for over an hr to the dealer(non ford) to see which one in their box of spares is ours..
So when we check at the dealer which one is ours i take it i try the key in the door to see if it works and that would be our key n fob !
Or should i chk the sides of the key to see if it matches ours !

!
Also what i want to know is the spare fob that we have at the moment can it be coded via the OBD to work with the existing key that we are using to open the door etc...
