I also asked this question and didn't get clear answers but went with bonding the seal with the bonding glue. Having said that i would recommend

From my experience with this resto, if I had to install just a new rubber seal I
would:

01. Heat the rubber, either in a hot water bucket or a quick-build hotbox with heat gun or hairdryer to get the seal a bit more flexible and easy to work with.

If your using hot water to heat the rubber, remember to blow the hollow tube out so water does not sit inside.

02. Do a test run installation without glue to determine how the seal sits and get a shape going. Start with one end of the seal in the middle of the back end of the glass. You have to push the Seal until it clips in over the lip. work the seal around until the two ends meet back in the middle. You might have some overdraft at the end, only cut this later on final installation as you will need to apply some glue where the two ends meet.

03.Once you happy with how it looks and is sitting correctly, slowly and carefully strip / peel the rubber seal out

Final Installation

04. I would recommend using a good quality moderate setting superglue gel for rubber seals or maybe even hot glue might work.

05. During final installation apply a spot weld technique with the glue to the frame to hold the rubber seal in position.

06. Once you get to the end cut the excess off to allow the two ends to meet and superglue together so it looks like one piece.

07. Go back and check that the seal is clipped in properly. Once satisfied allow to dry and settle for a day and install your panel.

Notes:

a) Prep is everything. Make sure you have your materials, tools and replacement part at hand. Work in a comfortable clean environment.
b) It can get messy, ensure you wearing gloves
c) Mask the glass and frame off nicely apart from where the rubber seal is going on.
d) make sure that the frame is cleaned and free from debris. If you have minor rust areas, try to attend to it best way possible. clean it up and paint it.

If you have major rust holes etc.....well you pretty much gotta do what i had to do or buy new off the bay or get a very good second hand one.

That is all I can recommend

Cheers
