The mk2 focus rs gearbox seems to be there preferred choice for rs turbos now do you know why that is at all? Im guessing theyre pretty indestructible? Also howcomes nms arent recommending cvh when they used to build the ultimate package in their stage 7 engine package?

The box is a no brainer mate, takes 400+ ft/lb of torque all day long, 6 speed and 1st -5th are very similar ratio to our original ones so should feel similar but then luxury of dropping in to 6th for motorway cruising at low revs. And I think with our rev limit we should be good for about 182mph

and all that in a package that is actually narrower than the bc box, so none of this notching out the inner wing at the worst point possible. Cable change so easy to fit. Hard part is the machining the box to the block, custom flywheel and custom shafts. But considering I gave £500 for the box and shafts its probably gonna come in similar price to any other conversion yet so much stronger and reliable.
The CVH block is just too old now mate, they cant take anything like the stress we want to put through them and is just a weak point you could do without worrying about. Under very high power they just split open at the front 9 times out of 10. I know others are still persevering with them but I didn't want to be pissing about 6 months down the line sourcing replacement blocks over and over. Hence the brand new frs bottom end.
