I have never ever had any problems with my car after doing any repairs myself, everything I've repaired on my car I've had no problems with at all, the problems came after other people messed things up, now this is why I now do all the repairs on my car myself despite no training.
to be honest everything I have repaired I have found easy and have saved over £500 in the last few months repairing it myself.
No dis-respect but if you have found everything easy to repair why did it take you so long to attempt to repair the turbo pipe, 40 + hours I think you said and how many posts pleading for help on this forum?
No one on this forum minds giving free advice but why dont you listen and take it in?
You say other people are to blame for not doing repairs correctly but they were obviously not proper skilled mechanics. There are loads of garages that could have done the work and probably at a reasonable rate to a first class standard.
My final words on this are either keep trying to do the repairs yourself but when you find that you cant manage them just keep it to yourself or get yourself something decent to drive and save yourself the hassle!!
