When I lived in Australia I worked for Telecom as a telephone engineer and for 2 years worked in a small town called Nurioopta in South Australia. My Telecom vehicle was a Toyota Landcruiser fitted with big Knobbly off road tyres as there were no tarmac roads once you left the town. In the Winter a lot of the area I worked in became very wet and muddy and there were a lot of steep very slippery hills to get up and down and a few times I got stuck and had to winch myself out. Once after heavy rain I had to get across a river which had massive boulders in it and the water was pretty deep and fast flowing and that was a bit scary! The Landcruiser was a really good off roader and never let me down. The only thing was on the few bits of tarmac roads the Knobbly tyres made a lot of noise and vibration.Great fun and got paid for doing it!!!
