I know, I am sorry, I feel at breaking point , I've been driving 5 years almost and spent over £9,000 on repairs. had 4 cars and all have been scrapped apart from last 1 which I gave to a friend in exchange for a job on this car.


I have had this 18 months and wanted this to be different, day 1 driving it home it overheated, garage diagnosed head gasket 2 days later at £900, found out it seems that they did not replace head gasket.
Now head gasket may be gone again, been topping up water about once a week, been doing this for about a year, however no oil/water mix, no smoke, no power loss, last year a chemical test changed colour indicating failed head gasket but over 12 months later no symptoms other than topping up water occasionally.
I would replace HG if it needs doing but turbo has some play ( no symptoms other than cannot feel/hear it and a mechanic says it has play) , clunking noise when bring clutch up e.t.c.
This car has had about £1700 spent on repairs in my ownership. to get it all right I'd probably be looking at another £1,000, I really do not know what to do.
My hands are sore/scratched from working on the car, I feel very tired and very stressed over it all.


I am sorry I ask to many question but I do really appreciate any help that you and anyone else here offers me, It really means a lot. I will try not asking too much but I just get carried away, lol

edit: good advice about taking it to a garage for inspection and cost, what do you think they would charge for a inspection such as the one you mentioned ? )
