If they stopped messing about and put the road tax on fuel then it would not matter
What car you had

Big car uses more fuel = more tax via the fuel
Small car uses less fuel = less tax

Then no matter what you use
If it burns fuel of one type or the other your paying your tax
And it can't be dodged or forgot

And ever the people that should be on the road will be paying tax
