If I could find someone who would correct the issues then yes, this would be my ideal option. However every tuner I've spoke to has told me it isn't something they would do and they would just remove both the EGR and DPF which is something I don't want to do. I like how 'clean' my Euro6 diesel is.

What's actually wrong with your car? Are you suggesting that its a common issue with all models the same as yours?
There is calibration issues related to the EGR valve. Sometimes when you go to accelerate the car bogs down like an overfueled two stroke before it gets up and goes. Sometimes it's so harsh it puts a jolt through the car along with a loud thump and feels like the engine cuts out for a split second. Sometimes it doesn't happen for 1000miles then sometimes it happens every 10 minutes. It's very odd.
I have live data showing the issue quite clearly. On one graph you can see I apply some throttle and the EGR swings wide open before very quickly closing again?

There is subsiquently a drop in MAF and fuel injected drops right off too along with a drop in road speed.
Ford have told me that not enough other people are complaining about the issue so it's unlikely it will ever be solved.

So your V60 'low miler' is going in for EGR and DPF issues? Probably your fault because it's not being driven as it's supposed to. Modern diesels don't do well with low miles.
I have too heard about the EGR & DPF stories but no article I've read so far has been credible.

Listen to the people above, try a 106XND
I wouldn't buy a Focus to impress other people. I bought a Focus because I wanted to try having a brand new car and it was the 'sensible' choice.
And no, I don't want to do my 185mile 3-4hour long trip twice a week in a fucking 106XND.
I will once my Focus is dead purchase a 3 year old high miler like I did my previous Mondeo and run it until it goes pop. That seems best value for money to me.

Only a few people will be bothered about the small issue so they won't action a fix.
Surley the only module that would have to follow would be the ECU. Both the Volvo and my 1.5TDCi both use Bosch EDC17 ECUs. Surley it wouldn't be reasonably hard to get everything to talk to eachother? I could be wrong, that's why I started this thread. Not to be abused and told I'm taking drugs.

I've said it for years modern diesels are false economy and it was confirmed when I had an st tdci. Also petrol components last so much longer and usually cost a ¼ of the price of diesel components.
No. What I'm saying is the money I've saved is money I've saved. However if I do have an expensive repair bill I'm still not out of pocket. I've yet to have an expensive 'diesel related' bill.
I also quite like the lazy power you get from a diesel. It's not noisy, dirty or smelly being a Euro6 unit.

Unfortunatley I got rid of my Mondeo because the DMF failed. It transpired that the flywheel had been replaced under warranty when the car was very young. At 160kish the flywheel failed and whoever fitted the previous flywheel cross threaded 3 of the bolts rendering the crank scrap. I'd done 70k in it in 2 and a half years and spent very little on it other than maintainance and wear and tear items. Couldn't fault it!
Nearly all petrols come with DMFs these days so it's not something you can pin on a diesel.
