I think being people being obsessed with mpg is a false economy, with the higher initial outlay, service and maintainence costs. The new diesels are ridiculously complicated compared to old with the new emissions laws.

Just ask the truck lads what's coming next on emissions and it's not good.

I'll stick to a petrol that does 10mpg less and stand a chance of owning trouble free when out of warranty
