Are they the same engine as used in the mk3 mondeo or an updated version? I had a 2.0 petrol mk3 about 10 years ago and I remember that using about a litre of oil every 1000 miles or so. I did about 20k in it and never noticed any smoke, it always ran well. No idea where the oil used to go!
