One of are guys a so called electrical wiz lol certificate in everything put a relay in it got 24v with his multi meter and kicked it out. I looked at it again today still loosing its 24 volts to the ecu a multimeter proves fook all lol you can get voltage through one strand under load is very different. Again I had no 24v at ecu but did at the bulk head. Then the 24 volts re appeared at the ecu back probed it with a bulb and the bulb was dim. As it drove up the yard you could see the bulb flashing so once again new loom lol
funnily enough we have a almost identical issue in the workshop with a renault kerax, has an intermittent fault on the box that unfortunately the uneducated among us decided first step was to take the box out as it must be that, 2 weeks later, 1 bill for a auto box inspection and 1 pit still taken up with a truck with no drive it's still not fixed and is effectively costing us £450 a day to have sat in the workshop as it's not out earning.

i've put the argument across about certificates prove nothing especially for situations like i earlier mentioned, beacons and cameras, it's childs play but the gaffer wants to cover his back when it comes to new vehicle warranty by only having persons with the relevant qualifications carry out the work.

still not heard back from Thatcham but have found Bosch offer various courses around the country so looking into that.
