My dog won't bark until someone is actually at the door. He's only a pup and learning but he's learning quickly. They have got to be trained in the right way as to what you want them to react to but even at 8 weeks he knows his place. Only had him a fortnight but got him guarding our doors already and if I've got him out and someone comes over to us all I need to say is (Tell them to get) and he goes nuts. A month or 2 and he will be very intimidating
