In 1972 was faced with a biggie. Buy my own House on a Mortgage at £50 a month & sell my pride & joy for the deposit or except a works subsidized house that was bigger & better at the time & only £30 a month. I chose to buy my own house. I removed the badge from the car & I still have it 44 years later was looking at it just a few days ago.
Correct decision or not, my best friend accepted the Works house lost the discount when he was made redundant & is still paying rent on it 44 years later. Ive been Mortgage free for 15 years & its now worth 600k+. Sometimes its best to sell your pride & joy BUT I still have that Badge.
